Ortler – Cevedale Group: The Paradise of Spring Ski Touring These mountains are authentic, far from crowded slopes and chaos, set within a pristine Alpine landscape. With skis on our feet and skins on our skis, we will explore glacier routes in the presence of the Thirteen Peaks, Ortler, and Gran Zebrù, immersed in a silence that only the mountains can offer.
This ski touring adventure takes place between Valle dei Forni and Val Martello, a four-day traverse with overnight stays in mountain huts, climbing the most iconic peaks.
PROGRAM: Day 1: Meet your guide for an introductory session and equipment check. Transfer to Santa Caterina Valfurva (SO) and the Forni parking lot at 2,174 m. Ascent to Rifugio Pizzini at 2,700 m, dinner and overnight stay. Elevation gain: 600 m – Difficulty: MS
Day 2: Ascent to Cima Solda at 3,387 m, followed by a beautiful descent toward Solda via the Vedretta di Solda to Rifugio Città di Milano at 2,581 m. Use the chairlift to reach near Passo del Madriccio at 3,123 m and descend through the homonymous valley to Rifugio N. Corsi (Zufallhütte) at 2,264 m. Climb to Rifugio Martello at 2,580 m at the foot of Cevedale. Dinner and overnight stay. Elevation gain: 1,100 m – Elevation loss: 1,700 m – Difficulty: BSA
Day 3: Ascent to Monte Cevedale at 3,769 m via the Cevedale Glacier and near Rifugio Casati, followed by an exhilarating descent to Val Cedec via the Cedec Glacier to Rifugio Pizzini at 2,700 m. Elevation gain: 1,200 m – Elevation loss: 1,100 m – Difficulty: BSA
Day 4: Ascent to Colle delle Pale Rosse at 3,375 m with views of Gran Zebrù, descent to Rifugio Pizzini at 2,700 m, and return to the Forni parking lot at 2,174 m. Return home. An optional ascent of Gran Zebrù is available for this day. Elevation gain: 700 m – Elevation loss: 1,250 m – Difficulty: BSA
INFORMATION: We will select the best routes based on snow conditions and your physical and technical level to ensure a rewarding experience. During the outings, those interested can improve individual technique, learn to navigate the mountains safely, and deepen their knowledge for avalanche risk prevention.
Physical level required: good physical and mental condition, accustomed to several consecutive days of spring ski touring.
The fee includes: Logistical organization, guidance and instruction by a certified Alpine Guide, use of shared safety equipment.
The fee does not include: Transfer costs, lift tickets, meals and accommodation for the Alpine Guide, and anything not listed under “The fee includes.”
